Guwahati: Ulfa (I) on Saturday stated it has executed two of its new recruits on expenses of spying for the Army and the Assam Police and for making an attempt to persuade different cadres to give up.
The information, which has despatched shockwaves throughout the state, comes forward of Union house minister Amit Shah’s two-day go to to the state from Monday to mark the completion of the primary 12 months of the state goverment.
In a press release, the outfit stated it has executed Dhanjit Das of Barpeta and Sanjib Sarma of Baihata Chariali on Saturday after a ‘court’ of the outfit ‘found them guilty’ and awarded them dying sentence on May 4 and 5. Dhanjit and Sanjib are stated to be of their early thirties and are from very poor households.
Ulfa (I) chief Paresh Baruah stated the “two have been executed today (May 7) at 8 am under the laws laid down in the constitution of Ulfa(I).”
