RGV withdraws ‘Maa Ishtam’ film launch for now – Telugu News – IndiaGlitz.com

Ram Gopal Varma, a day after collaborat ing within the pre-release occasion of ‘Maa Ishtam’ in Hyderabad, has withdrawn the film’s theatrical launch indefinitely. The director, recognized for weaving controversies, has attributed the postponement to the alleged non-cooperation by a number of theaters to display his film owing to its delicate theme of lesbian romance.

“I regret to inform you we are postponing the film ‘Maa Ishtam’ (‘KHATRA DANGEROUS’ in Hindi) due to the non-cooperation of many theaters due to its lesbian theme. We will proceed in all ways to fight this injustice and come at a later date,” RGV tweeted.

Earlier, PVR and INOX determined to not display the film owing to a programming name.

Varma’s choice to postpone the Naina Ganguly-Apsara Rani launch disappoints none. The film was carrying low buzz anyhow.

This week, Varun Tej’s ‘Ghani’ and ‘Katha Kanchiki Manam Intiki’ are hitting the screens.
