PM Modi launches Ujjwala 2.0 for offering free LPG connections in Uttar Pradesh


Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi right now launched Ujjwala 2.0, the second part of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), in Uttar Pradesh. After the formal launch, the prime minister distributed free fuel connections to 10 ladies nearly. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath handed over the paperwork to the ladies on behalf of the Prime Minister.

“Not wood log stoves, but LPG stoves should be there in every household across the country,” stated PM Modi throughout his interplay with ladies beneficiaries.

Ujjwala 2.0 scheme

Along with a deposit-free LPG connection, Ujjwala 2.0 will present the primary refill and hotplate freed from value to the beneficiaries. The enrolment process would require minimal paperwork and in Ujjwala 2.0, migrants is not going to be required to submit ration playing cards or handle proof.

Ujjwala 1.0

During Ujjwala 1.0 launched in 2016, a goal was set to supply LPG connections to 5 crore ladies members of BPL households.

Subsequently, the scheme was expanded in April 2018 to incorporate ladies beneficiaries from seven extra classes corresponding to SC and ST communities and forest dwellers.

In the Union Budget for 2021-22, provision for a further one crore LPG connection underneath the scheme was introduced.

These one crore further connections underneath Ujjwala 2.0 goal to supply deposit-free LPG connections to these low-income households who couldn’t be lined underneath the sooner part of PMUY.
