OIL spokesperson Tridiv Hazarika on Thursday stated an emergency safety assembly was held on Tuesday on the firm’s area headquarters in Duliajan. The assembly, chaired by officiating OIL resident chief govt Anfor Ali Haque, was attended by varied division heads, representatives of administration and safety, CISF and AISF amongst others.
“We have received an intelligence input from Assam Police warning us about the possibility of insurgent groups targeting vital installations and kidnapping officials in upper Assam. An internal security review meeting was held on Tuesday and several decisions were taken considering the security alert,” Hazarika stated.
During the assembly, all executives and staff of the corporate have been directed to observe the usual working process and directions because the alert was of “serious” nature. Movement of staff throughout night and evening have been restricted. Any pressing motion in the course of the stated hours have to be told to safety division.
