kamakhya: Cong Begins Campaign With Visit To Kamakhya | Guwahati News – Times of India

Guwahati: Congress leaders paid obeisance at Kamakhya temple earlier than launching a door-to-door marketing campaign within the residential areas of Nilachal hills, atop which the Shakti shrine is positioned.
The Kamakhya temple comes below the Jalukbari meeting phase, the bastion of BJP and residential constituency of chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Even because the BJP is assured of victory in Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) ward no. 8 right here, Congress can also be hopeful of regaining misplaced floor within the Nilachal hills.
“Starting from poor transportation in the evening and at night, scarcity of piped water is a big problem for the residents. There are not enough streetlights as well. We are focusing on a door-to-door campaign to mobilize the residents against the BJP government’s misrule,” stated state PCC president Bhupen Borah. He stated regardless of residing in a historic place within the municipal space, youths are crying for jobs.
