GUWAHATI: At least eight individuals, together with two minors, have been killed in lightning and extreme storm accompanied with heavy showers in other places of Assam, an official bulletin stated on Saturday.
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), the ‘Bordoisila’ , as such summer time storms and rains are referred to as, lashed a number of elements of Assam since Thursday.
In addition to the human casualty, it left behind a path of destruction, together with damaging homes, uprooting timber and snapping electrical strains.
The ASDMA bulletin, which was up to date until 8 pm on April 15, stated that 4 individuals have been killed in Dibrugarh on Friday because of the large storm.
The deceased have been recognized and included a 12 year-old.
Three extra individuals misplaced their lives to the storm in Barpeta district on Thursday and a 15-year previous boy died in lightning in Goalpara district, ASDMA stated.
The storm uprooted scores of timber and dozens of electrical poles, broken many homes at numerous locations up to now few days, ASDMA stated within the bulletin.
At least 7,378 homes and different institutions have been broken within the state over the past two days, it added.
