CPI(M) Thiruvananthapuram district secy’s home attacked


A day after the CPI(M) district committee workplace was attacked allegedly by ABVP staff, the home of celebration district secretary Anavoor Nagappan got here beneath assault by unidentified individuals.

This was the third consecutive assault on CPI(M) staff and workplaces within the state capital since Friday.

Police stated stones had been hurled on the home of Nagappan late Saturday night time damaging the window panes and a automobile.

“We are examining the CCTV visuals from the area. Not many people travel from those areas late at night. We hope to nab the culprits soon,” a senior police official stated.

Meanwhile, Thampanoor police on Sunday arrested three activists of the ABVP, the scholars wing of BJP, for allegedly attacking the CPI(M) district committee workplace within the early hours of Saturday.

Police stated the arrests had been made after analyzing CCTV footage.

“The accused were arrested from a hospital nearby,” police stated.

Sources stated the accused had been admitted to the hospital on Friday after they allegedly attacked the procession of the CPI(M) on Friday injuring Left celebration councillor Gayathri Babu.

Kerala minister V Sivankutty on Sunday hit out on the BJP-RSS and stated it was the plan of the Sangh Parivar to create unrest within the state forward of the Onam festive season.


“First, they attacked the CPI(M) councillor at Vanchiyoor. Later, they attacked the CPI(M) district committee office. Now, the house of the district secretary has been attacked. It’s all part of a conspiracy. The BJP-RSS leadership has a role behind it,” Sivankutty alleged.

He stated earlier additionally the BJP-RSS had tried to create unrest within the state throughout pageant seasons.
