AGARTALA: Former Tripura chief minister and chief of opposition Manik Sarkar has requested sought chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb to deliver again state troopers who have been deployed to different states, alleging that they aren’t getting the required amenities there.
He additionally requested Deb to not deploy them on a long-term foundation outdoors the state in future.
In a letter to Biplab Kumar Deb, Manik Sarkar stated that although there are provisions to deploy India Reserve (IR) Battalion of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) to different states for a brief time period, some TSR personnel are nonetheless deployed for a protracted interval that has left them annoyed and impacts their morale.
“It is found that the essential facilities including food and lodging for the TSR personnel are not properly done in the states where they are deployed. As a result, they are facing challenges and thus affects their morale and also creates frustration among them,” Sarkar stated within the letter.
Tripura has 12 battalions of TSR; the primary battalion was fashioned in 1984.
Besides duties in poll-bound states, the trooper firms are deployed in Delhi on inside safety duties and in Chhatisgarh, for safety in mining operations of an organization below Coal India Limited.
The chief minister’s workplace hasn’t reacted on Manik Sarkar’s letter.
