DIBRUGARH: The All Assam Students’ Union (Aasu) on Monday burnt the effigies of state agriculture minister and guardian minister of Dibrugarh district, Atul Bora, and Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Mishra in protest towards the arrest of 5 of its members following a brawl throughout a university election.
The college students’ physique additionally accused the police of forcefully coming into the Aasu workplace in Dibrugarh. The Aasu members burnt the effigies at Chowkidinghee close to their workplace.
“On Saturday, Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Mishra sent a police force to the Dibrugarh Aasu office and forcefully picked up our members without any reason. After that, the police behaved badly with them at the police station,” mentioned Aboni Gogoi, basic secretary of the Dibrugarh district Aasu unit.
